Palatial Neoclassical Residence with Baroque Influences

When we feel nostalgic for Saint Petersburg, we often think back to this project — a residence that reflects the spirit of the city’s 19th-century architecture.

This is the architecture we studied in college, the architecture that surrounded us on our way to university, and the environment that helped shape us as designers. Over the years, our work has moved toward a more contemporary and practical architectural language, but this tradition remains part of our DNA.

The residence was designed as a modern interpretation of Neoclassicism. A massive granite base, carefully proportioned façades, classical order elements, marble sculptures and atlantes, precise symmetry, and a copper roof create a disciplined and monumental composition.

It remains the most expensive private residence we have ever worked on — and one of the few early projects we can revisit decades later without wanting to fundamentally change it.
