Northern Art Nouveau Estate

   This country estate was designed in the spirit of Northern Art Nouveau — a style that combines expressive composition, natural materials, and a strong sense of architectural character.

   The project was developed for the owner of one of Saint Petersburg’s largest construction companies and located in Vartemyagi, one of our favorite cottage communities. Over the course of two years, SOZDAN DESIGN worked through multiple design studies, carefully searching for the ideal composition, proportions, and spatial planning solutions.

   Great attention was given to the overall ensemble: the relationship between buildings, rooflines, façades, materials, details, and the atmosphere of the estate as a whole. As a result, the project received a clearly defined architectural identity inspired by Art Nouveau — elegant, expressive, and carefully composed.

   Unfortunately, only the general construction work was completed. After the property was sold, the new owners changed the original design, and the project was not fully realized as envisioned. Nevertheless, this estate remains an important part of our portfolio and one of our most detailed explorations of a complete residential ensemble
